Ahead, in the dimming light, can be seen some kind of plant growing from the desert. There is a fence surrounding a huge, almost endless field of some dull, brown plant, it looks like corn, but it thinner and more rough looking. THe light is coming from a series of small lamps on poles through the middle of the field

Lenore fails to spot what is there, but Pandora's eyes are especially keen, and her gun arm raises, taking aim at something in the field. "Lenore..." she says, still obviously a little nervous about the unexpected "What is that? O-over there."

Lenore and Pandora run into the crops as a small, metal object rises out of it. It seems to be some kind of flying robot, an oval of steel with a spotlight on the bottom that sweeps around as if searching for something.

Pandora runs as well, and the strange machine follows close behind. Suddenly, Lenore bursts through some crops and onto a path between the fields. Nearby there is the drone of an engine, and looking around, she sees a big, eight-wheeled vehicle, low to the ground with an open top and a man sitting at the controls. He sees the women and pulls a lever, which causes the machine to stop, then he stands up. He's pretty skinny, dressed in a patchwork outfit with more pockets than can be counted, a pair of boots and a pair of goggles covering his eyes. He runs his fingers through his messy ginger hair and calls out with a thickly accented voice "Hey there, what in the world are you two ladies doin' runnin' aroun' here at night?"
